Welcome to Tambopata Adventures. All our programs have been carefully designed to maximize the diversity of activities while limiting their environmental impact. After a warm welcome at Puerto Maldonado’s airport, we will take a bus to the port where a motor boat will be waiting for us. A one-hour ride on the Madre de Dios River will take us to the Nái-Mecí Lodge, where an exotic drink will be waiting for you. Our guides will brief you on both the lodge and general rainforest ecology.
Immediately after relaxing and refreshing at our luxurious bungalows, we will be able to walk the forest through the nearby trail system. Dinner and a short briefing on our next day plans. Optional night walk to observe insects and amphibians. Overnight at the Nái-Mecí Lodge.
A buffet breakfast will be offered for all guests participating in early activities. We take advantage of our boat ride up the river to observe the fabulous bird life. Upon reaching the ranger’s guard post (the entry to Sandoval Lake) we start a 3-kilometer walk through a trail until we reach the lake itself. We will board small canoes and paddle around to observe the surrounding wildlife and, if lucky, a family of Giant Otters. We walk back to our motorized boat and to our lodge. Back at the lodge we will hike in the forest through the nearby trail system, and observe macaw nests and an amazing jungle sunset from the observation tower by the swamp. Dinner and overnight stay at the Nái-Mecí Lodge.
Early after having breakfast, we board our boat once again toward the “Taricaya Project”, a natural reserve with several different research programs including an animal release program for captive wildlife, trail maintenance, wildlofe observtion and a pilot farm. We will walk around the trail system, observing wildlife, while our guide lets us in some native legends and teaches us about medicinal plants. Walk over a hanging bridge and up to an observation tower for a spectacular overview of the jungle canopy. After lunch, we return to the Nái-Mecí Lodge where we can walk the trails again. Dinner and overnight at our lodge.

After a relaxing and refreshing break in our bungalows, we can spend the afternoon with the following activities:
- Hike in the forest through the nearby trail system
- Observe macaw nests and an amazing jungle sunset from the observation tower by the swamp.
Early in the morning after breakfast we will set on our boat to the Tambopata Reserve and the Tambopata River. On our way there we will see caimans, turtles and a great variety of birds. After 7 hours, we will pick an appropriate beach to set up camp and enjoy our dinner.
Once again, very early, we’ll visit a hidden shelter to observe the clay lick and wait for the arrival of parrots, parakeets and macaws (aras). We will have the opportunity to see an amazing sunrise. We willl return to our campsite where our cheff will be waiting for us with a stupendous breakfast, then, we board our motorized river boat down stream to Nái-Mecí Lodge.
